Data from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service show the month’s supply of housing inventory for sale continuing to decline in King and Snohomish counties. In November, King County had 0.93 months’ supply of inventory, down from 0.99 the previous month, and 1.39 months’ of inventory a year ago. Even more concerning, Snohomish County had just 0.38 months’ supply of inventory in November, down from 0.49 the prior month and 1.27 a year ago.

I don't know if you heard, but urbanists are developer shills. At least that's the common conception. In reality, many of us quite critical of certain developers and projects, while recognizing that absolute opposition to developers would get us nowhere. If developers are evil, they're a necessary evil—at least until we rise up, seize the modes of production, and turn Seattle into only to a full-blown socialist metropolis in which the government leads a huge construction boom to affordably house everybody.

No sign of the revolution yet, though.

Housing Demand Continues to Outpace Supply

The September Builder's Bulletin shows signs that our region's housing supply and demand continues to be out of balance, with housing inventory for sale hovering around one-month's supply in King and Snohomish counties and home prices still on the rise. The median price of single family homes in King County rose 18.56 percent year-over-year in July to $658,000. The median price in Snohomish County rose 11.87 percent to $453,085.
